I know, because when I got started selling products online 9 years ago it took me more than 6 months to figure out what to do and in what order to do them in! Thankfully, technology has rapidly advanced since then. Numerous ecommerce platforms have been created all offering their various features and benefits. So you might be wondering why you should build your ecommerce business based upon WordPress and why it’s better compared to other ecommerce systems? Well, the answer to that question will really depend. I know it might seem like a cop out answer, but it’s really the truth. I have personally used over 15 different ecommerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, 1ShoppingCart, Ecwid,eShop,Volusion, and the list goes on). Each system has had their pros and cons. The thing to keep in mind with any technology, including building your business on the “right” platform or system, is that there is no such thing as the “perfect system”. There will always be some feature, or bug, or something just not quite right or even missing altogether.

The reason why I launch ecommerce sites using WordPress, besides WordPress powering more than 25% of the entire websites in the world,  is because the system gives me 100% freedom and control over my own system.
